Dear Tucson Plumbers,
I am currently trying to redo a lot of the residential plumbing in my home. There have been some previous problems with my old piping. Some of it has started to rust and others have started to leak. This is probably because I have not had some of the plumbing redone in fifteen years. I was just curious if all of these problems were from wear and tear or if there is something wrong with the actual piping I have installed in my home right now? If you could give me some advice on what type of piping I should have installed that would be a lot of help. I really appreciate all of your advice.
Dear Piping Disaster,
Here at Tucson Plumbers we recommend one type of piping and one type only. This type of plumbing is copper piping. There are many different reasons we recommend this piping for your plumbing fixtures. We would be happy to give you a little information on copper piping and why it is so great to use.
First off, if you have noticed rust on your pipes then you absolutely do not have copper piping already installed. We know this because copper piping does not rust. So, the rust on your pipes may not just be from having your plumbing not redone in a long time. It may just be due to the fact that you have a type of piping that rusts easily. When piping starts to rust, you are leaving yourself open to a lot of water problems. After the rust starts to grow, it will start to chip off into your water. Now, you may be drinking water or bathing with water that has pieces of rust in it which is not good at all. Copper piping does not rust at all as long as it is installed correctly so you will not have to worry about this anymore.
Another reason copper piping is a fantastic choice for your plumbing fixtures is the cost. When you are redoing your plumbing, things can start to add up. Surprisingly, copper piping is usually cheaper than most other types of piping. Most of the time, when you are remodeling anything you have some sort of a budget. Usually, it is quite hard to stay within your designated budget. By purchasing copper piping, it will be much easier to stay within your budget.
We really hope that all of this information helps. Also, besides having copper piping installed, you should just make sure to take care of your plumbing. You should constantly check the pipes to make sure that there is nothing going wrong. Just like anything else, piping needs to be taken care of. Waiting fifteen years to fix your piping is a little too long so this time around you should try to maintain your piping just like any other item in your home.
